Hi, I’m Kat.
I'm so glad you’re here.

I'm a self taught modern lettering and fiber artist based in Austin, Texas. I've lived in many states but never truly found a community of creatives and supporters until moving to ATX, and man it feels good!

How I Started
In 2014, I found myself at a beautiful beach house in NC where my husband was serving in the Marine Corps. Sounds picturesque, surrounded by clear blue water and sunshine, but I had just quit a dream job teaching in KC, and the only person I knew in the state was working 14 hour days. That's when I went to Michael's (on a Saturday he was off because no car) and got a sketchbook, micron pen, watercolors, and a paint brush. Little did I know, the curiosity and creative exploring would lead me to a small business in TX (I saw none of that coming for so many reasons!).

After many small but meaningful creative endeavors since then, my hobby has flourished into what it is today. It has become my therapy that’s followed me through every out of state move (there are a lot), hard day at home with the kids, and helped me connect so many wonderful people. I fell in love with bringing visions to life through custom orders and creating a guide and process to teach others - anyone can do it, even if you have bad handwriting!

Now
We are happily residing in ATX with two beautiful girls, a dog, and a cat. After teaching elementary and experiencing my own darkness in adjusting to motherhood, I've really grown a heart for moms and women who step into special roles for kids. I will be returning to the classroom in the fall, and I can’t wait to see how the two worlds come together and the beauty and joy we will create!

Everything that I make is uniquely designed and made by hand, a true labor of love. I made a promise to myself to dream, work, and create from a place of joy and spread that love to others. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for shopping small. That quote about small business owners doing a dance with each order? It's true.

Do you have a cause that is important to you? Please share with me!
I often choose charities and non profits to donate a portion of proceeds to from pop ups. If you have one that is close to your heart, please let me know! I would be happy to learn more and potentially make a donation on your behalf!
